February 2017 Newsletter

It is already February! Where does the time go? We have another busy month with many activities and events going on. I have listed those at the bottom of this newsletter for your reference. I would encourage you to participate in as many as you possibly can.

Our school family is continually striving to get better at all of our expectations here at school. Please spend time talking to your child about the importance of following directions, listening, and being a respectful and responsible learner. It may seem like we stress this a lot, but to me we can’t talk about it enough. We all want our children to grow up and be successful in life, so we need to continually discuss and model how to do that. Our children will learn from our own actions, so it’s important that we model this for them on a continual basis.

With Valentines celebrated in February, it is often a time we think about love and relationships. What relationships do you treasure the most? Are there relationships that need to be restored? It is our goal at school that we create a strong relationship with your students and show them love and support. There is research that states that teachers who have a strong relationship with their students that they perform better. Conduct a relationship audit. Think about 10 people who are most important to you. Why are they important to you? What can you do to build those relationships even further? To what extent do you really know those people? Our society has become so bogged down that we often forget about those people who are important. Let’s start here in our own community of restoring and building each other up. Let’s not be a victim to society and let it control how we build relationships. I want to thank you for allowing us to build relationship with your student’s every day!
